Shock-mitigating suspension seats have emerged as a leading counter-measure to mitigate severe wave impacts, and acceptance by end users continues to grow. However, a lack of consistent standards has hindered the industry’s performance and resulted in insufficient product comparison data for buyers.
This problem was recognized by scientists from major fleet agencies, and dedicated steps were taken to design seat testing requirements and standards. The goal was to create an apples-to-apples comparison between shock mitigating seats to assess performance. Maritime agencies would now have a way to measure how well a seat mitigates impact with a straightforward mathematical calculation.
We're pleased to introduce the Shoxs Caster suspension seat series, designed to deliver a smoother ride for the offshore boater. The new Helmcaster and Saltcaster models represent the only all-in-one, fully featured suspension seat system for the recreational boater, eliminating the challenge of matching seat buckets with suspension bases like shock absorbing pedestals or modules.
Make sure your boat operators are protected from painful shock and vibration on the water with suspension seating.
It's surprisingly easy to replace your existing seats with shock mitigating ones. Here are the top 4 reasons you should consider upgrading your seats:
We're now offering our standard Shoxs product line with clear hard coat anodized aluminum metal parts, which results in a natural gray color.
Allsalt Shoxs seats have always been constructed with high-quality, anodized aluminum metal parts. Once an aluminum surface is anodized, the finish becomes even stronger than what it was before, adding corrosion resistance and UV protection. The anodized aluminum won't chip, flake, or peel, get weathered, or rust, making it an ideal material for longevity in saltwater environments. While our traditional black finish is incredibly strong, clear anodizing has some significant advantages. It's stronger:
The Kinetix product line is designed to provide easily assimilated guidance for maritime professionals to operate safely within designated shock and vibration exposure limits.
Allsalt's Jordan Tilton, Dealer and OEM Programs Manager, is recognized in the 2021 Boating Industry 40 Under 40 program. The awards program, now in its fifth year, shines a spotlight on emerging young leaders in the marine industry.
Jordan describes his initial entry into the marine industry with a job as an R&D Captain for Cummins Mercruiser Diesel in Charleston, South Carolina. He credits his father for spending pivotal time with him growing up and inspired his love of the outdoors.
When Will Parkinson isn't fighting fires with the UK Fire and Rescue Service, you'll probably find him on the water fighting fish with his team, Smart Fishing UK.
Will is also a passionate supporter of the Firefighter's Charity, a UK nonprofit organization that supports men and women in the line of duty with resources to manage their mental, physical, and social well-being. He and the team raise funding and awareness for this remarkable organization by competing in fishing tournaments. He outfitted his boat with four 3200 X4 shock mitigating helm seats and frequently travel long distances over the water in nearly any condition to get to the fish.
Allsalt Maritime Corporation recently opened two new offices to accommodate rapid growth in the commercial and recreational boating industry and deliver superior regional support to new and existing customers.
Allsalt Maritime’s United States office is located in Edgewater, Florida, and will be led by newly appointed Brand Development and US Managing Director Lisa Wood, a marketing and business development professional with more than 20 years of experience managing brands such as Stanley, Continental Tire, and ARB 4x4 Accessories.
After spending nearly a decade as a training officer in the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary, the impacts from traveling at high speed on the water caused significant pain and injury to Kevin Smith's back. He's still paying for it today...literally. "I spend thousands and thousands of dollars a year with chiropractors looking after my back," Kevin says.
These days, he's the owner and operator of British Columbia-based Maple Leaf Adventures. Kevin selected shock mitigation seating for his adventure tour business both for passenger comfort and safety as well as his own.
Navies, Coast Guards, and Marine Police Forces increasingly turn to shock-mitigation technology to protect their human assets. These agencies recognize that arriving at a mission objective is not enough, crews must be fit to fight when they get there.
A special report by the Office of Naval Research indicated that 65% of Special Boat Operators reported mechanical shock injuries, many serious enough to require medical attention.
